In few points

Every ten years, the Council announces where and when the next Grand Tournament will be held, which will allow the choice among their peers, of the person who will have the honour of being inducted into their institution. Each time, this exceptional event attracts the most daring Master-Artefactors, flocking from all continents to demonstrate that they deserve to be rewarded with the title of Grand Master.

The Grand Tournament takes place over an entire astral year, during which each of the pretenders to this illustrious distinction will have to build an Artefact Machine combining Water, Fire, Earth, Air and Lightning with skeletons of metal. Each one of the Master-Artefactors will have to design and build their machine, which will be pitted against those of their competitors in confrontations. Only one of them will attain a place within the Council...

The Artefact Machines will be evaluated on their construction qualities and their results during the battle rounds. Nevertheless, it will be necessary to be a good strategist to thwart the traps posed by opponents, not to mention the low blows that some less scrupulous Masters are already preparing in the shadows. So ingenuity, tenacity, and cunning will be needed in striving to become the next Grand Master.

This game, for 2 to 4 players (and solo mode), is intended for people wanting a complete and intense experience, which mixes resource management, worker placement and confrontation in the aristocratic spheres of the late nineteenth century.

The Story

Two thousand years old, Artefactorum, a secret society governed by the Council of Great Master-Artefactors, gathers the scientific elite from all four corners of the world around one ambition: to attain the ultimate knowledge of the mechanisms of the Universe.

Red has just dug a tunnel to be able to hide and take its own way in the Arena. 

RED

The Artefacts can rush into the teleporter, to join another teleporter of the Arena.

TELEPORTER DEVICE

The Artefacts must move through the maze of walls of the arena, each game is different!

WALL

Artefacts adjacent to the rotator benefit from a free rotation.

ROTATOR DEVICE

Yellow is activating his drones, to attack in multiple directions.

YELLOW

If an Artefact shoot or move on a bonus, he will recieve 5 Prestige Points.

PRESTIGE BONUS

If an Artefact shoot or move on a Bonus, he will recieve 5 Prestige Points.

PRESTIGE BONUS

This trap is activated each round and reduces the range of shots.

PITCH PROJECTOR

If an Artefact shoot or move on a Bonus, he will recieve 5 Prestige Points.

PRESTIGE BONUS

The Artefacts can rush into the teleporter, to join another teleporter of the Arena.

TELEPORTER DEVICE

Blue is using the Resize Technologie. Smaller, he will be harder to reach

BLUE

An Artefact arriving on an ejector, makes a jump and appear randomly on another square.

EJECTOR  DEVICE

Using a geomantic card, Blue has made frost. If an Artefact reaches one of these squares it will receive water damage.

Artefacts adjacent to the accelerator will get additional movement points.

Red was able to place a very useful turret to intercept the opponents.

8 years ago, after looking for his perfect game in the stores and not finding it, Franck had a crazy idea: designing his dream game. Through the years, Artefacts was born, playtested, prototyped and more.

This unusual game is the result of a work without any concessions, and a great passion, carried by its author due to the encouragement and the support of the players through the years.
